Where We Came From
John Anthoine, a third-generation watchmaker, and business partner Edmond Rosset grew up in a small region in France called Savoie, and made their way to Canada in the early 50’s. With only a passion for fine things and a desire for a better life, their partnership took root in Sault Ste. Marie in 1952. In memory of where they came from Savoy’s Jewellers was created with a meager beginning of 4 rings, 16 watches, and $200 worth of jewellery.
In the late 70’s Edmonds twin sons, Rodger & Richard began to take interest in the industry that they only knew. First cleaning windows and working at the store every chance they afforded during high school. Then after to attend jewellery training at several of the finest schools in Canada and the U.S., becoming goldsmiths and then gemologists from the Gemological Institute of America in California.
Following in the foot-steps of their fathers and committed to the future of Savoy’s Jewellers, Nicholas, Richard's son and Ryan, Rodger's son represent the future of our organization. Both have become accomplished goldsmiths and also graduate gemologists from the Gemological Institute of America in California.
It’s easy to see why generations of customers have made Savoy’s Jewellers their trusted jeweller for all their important occasions.
